| Finally cutting the tv cord with Knology Well, after many years with Knology we have finally decided to drop to only their internet.
After having the cable TV be inconsistent and poor quality it's just not worth paying for anymore. Basically here is what I experienced with their cable TV
- At least once per week the cable box would stop picking up any channels except a random 10 or so. Would call Knology and use the refresh command option. Reboot and fine. However, after doing this 1-2 times a week it got frustrating. Went through 2x boxes with same results.
Neighbor also has similar problems.
- HD channels would only come in up to channel 940. This would be fairly random. Work fine for weeks, then suddenly they would just stutter and not come in. Support would reset box, same thing.
- A garbage truck pulled down a pole near our house (had the claw and caught a wire). After this was repaired, and I saw a Knology truck out there working EVERYTHING worked great for about 2 months.
Then saw some Knology trucks doing work in this same area a little over two months later and then we had issues again. Box not picking up all the channels, etc.
- Plugged in an OTA antenna and found HD channels were 10x nicer OTA than through Knology which cost an extra $10 a month to get what I would consider mediocre to poor HD.
The internet has been rock solid however and the support people very polite / nice. So will definitely stick with at least internet.
But for cable TV, just gotta drop them. If no great deals pop up with other companies probably stick with streaming. -- HABYA HABYA HABYA TEAR DOWN THE HEMP STALKS EAT UP THE OLD MAN AND WOMAN AND CARRY OFF THE LITTLE GIRL MAY YOU DIE ALONE |

 | I had to do the same bro. However, mine was due to their internet product. My cable was excellent. |

I've had Directv for TV for the past 3 years. I have Phone/Internet with Knology as a dual bundle. I have found them to be pretty rock solid on phone and internet. I know you are having internet issues, but that should get better when D3 rolls out for you.
I have been with K since 12/2001 and have not changed my phone/net since them. I ping-ponged my TV back-n-forth between them and comcast for the best deals but then went total D* 3+ years ago.

Standard package I easily get ~12 Mb/s download and 2 Mb/s upload. Has only ever cut out a few times over the past 5 years, and usually back up within 0.5-1 hour.
However, the TV has been horrible. Price wise I can get a better situation just going internet + phone with Knology and getting TV elsewhere. Especially since they won't get me the $90/month special which is only for new customers.
Add in the fact my bill just went up $10/month for no reason what so ever...time for it to go. -- HABYA HABYA HABYA TEAR DOWN THE HEMP STALKS EAT UP THE OLD MAN AND WOMAN AND CARRY OFF THE LITTLE GIRL MAY YOU DIE ALONE |
