Re: If you could add a product, feature or make a change... 1) startz HD on demand
2) Better BH Remote DVR Management
it would be nice to be able to delete shows remotely in order to make space available on the Bright House dvr.
3) Tivo on-demand access
it would be nice for BH to set something up with tivo the way that comcast and cox are doing to allow for on-demand access via tivo. |

 | reply to BHNtechXpert 1. Make it easier for people buying smartphones/tablets to setup their tampabay.rr.com email addresses on their device. The fact that the incoming/outgoing mailserver names for roadrunner are not the mail.domain.com format like most and that the username format is different for the outgoing and incoming servers. (e.g. outgoing username is $user@tampabay.rr.com while incoming username is just $user) is a cause for frustration for many since no email program will be able to automatically set up email for your users. Apple seems to have addressed this in a recent update on iOS devices but Android and others have not. People have to be rocket scientists (or geeks) to know why it isn't working automatically or where to get the information to fix it in most cases. I deal with people every day in my line of work and the almost all email issues are with roadrunner setup on their device incorrectly. We have had to post instructions for employees and provide customers with an instruction sheet in case they need to set it up again. I can't think of any other email provider that this is an issue for, unless the customer owns their domain, but even then it is usually not such a discombobulated server/username format. Im an thinking if I have this much trouble, I am sure the number of people who have to call in for help with such things must be pretty high for BHN tech support and makes using roadrunner email not so simple for the non techie types. A good fix would make the incoming/outgoing mailservers something like mail.tampabay.rr.com which most clients setup by default mirror the existing hostnames. Usernames? Well, maybe allow the full email address be used for incoming and outgoing (another default) somehow.
2. How about some love for Android users with an App like the iPad has? I am also pretty jealous of the FIOS apps we had in my old neighborhood like remote and DVR available for all Android and iOS devices.
Thanks for asking for our feedback. Not every company cares to have open discussion about ideas like this and it really should happen more often. |

Thanks for asking for our feedback. Not every company cares to have open discussion about ideas like this and it really should happen more often. It's as easy as it could possibly get already... Android autopops the email settings and has for years and so do most other DECENT mail clients including IOS now. If yours didn't then you to need to contact the client maker. The instructions are also already available not only on our support pages but also at RR.com

Frankis chillingPremium join:2000-11-03 somewhere 1 edit | reply to BHNtechXpert having been to two different service centers there are two suggestions i would make.
1) different hours for different service centers.
most people work 9am to 5pm so having all the service centers open during 9am to 6pm means everybody rushes to get there prior between 5pm and 6pm which means really long lines. It would be nice if there were open more during the weekend (as opposed to only some service centers being open only until 1pm on saturdays) and later at night during the weekdays.
2) bags
when you get a new cable box they just hand you a buncha stuff (cable box, power cord, remote, hdmi cable). It would be nice if you guys gave out some sort of bags to carry this stuff out in. I cant tell you how many people i've seen fumbling around with cableboxes + remotes + cables. |

Frankis chillingPremium join:2000-11-03 somewhere | reply to BHNtechXpert the other thing that I would recommend would be to show a 'current balance' on the account in the online billpay section next to the statement balance.
the reason why is because the statement balance stays the same even after you pay your bill which can sometimes lead to confusion if you dont remember if you paid your bill or not for the month. |

Ptyer join:2012-04-01 Orlando, FL | reply to BHNtechXpert I already stated this once, but I wanted to restate and echo a few of the other suggestions I have read:
I have always wanted to be able to set up a recording of a show during a commercial of the show. Such as a coming this fall on Fox, new show XYZ. I see it, I hit the select button for enhanced features and set up a future recording months in advance. Often times I forget about a show and don't realize until 3 episodes in and then I have to pray it is available on demand. I also want to be able to hide the adult channels from my 8 year old. Showtime Anytime would be a great addition, the ability to not show the standard definition channels and only see the HD channel if it is available, sort of like one of your "Direct" competitors. STARZ HD On Demand. Not sure why that is not offered. |
|
 | Add boomerang to the Orlando market as well. And more starz hd channels and hd on demand for starz. |

| reply to BHNtechXpert I've heard that there's no demand for detailed price lists on the BH website because everyone really wants bundles.
I disagree. I suspect people really do want the:
Per Item pricing table on the website
Per Item pricing table on the website
Per Item pricing table on the website
Per Item pricing table on the website
Per Item pricing table on the website
Per Item pricing table on the website
Per Item pricing table on the website
Per Item pricing table on the website
Per Item pricing table on the website
Per Item pricing table on the website
Now we know there are business customers who actually do want to find per/service pricing on the biz web site - ie: 50/5 internet only.
Why not post the prices for Bright House's individual business services (ie: 50/5 internet only) on the website?
and
It would be nice if a residential customer could visit the website and easily locate a price for each desired service - ie:Unbundled Lightning.
Having all of the residential prices in one table would accomplish that. Posting prices for a few bundles here and a few services there, isn't quite the same.
So: Is there anyone else who'd like to easily find prices for each service, on Bright House's website? |

Re @bhn.net | reply to BHNtechXpert I would quadruple the upload speed on every speed tier. 2-4mbps is simply not enough.
The upload speed is the only problem I have with Bright House and I can't switch to a different ISP even if I wanted to because Bright House monopolized the cable line rights in my area. |

 | One BIG thing I would change is the channel line up. It is fine to have the hd channels in the 1000's but you don't need two of the same channel in two different spots. Like for an example if you have science on 120 put the hd version on 1120. Just had a one in front of 120. |

I will however add it to the list...thank you. -- ~All truth goes through three phases. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. | reply to sneff1984 I second this.
While my memory still works very well; that of my father-inlaw is a different story.
What sneff is referring to I think is more about making it more uniform. I know 13 is the SD version of the news and 1013 and 1213 the HD. Then WFTV is channel 7 on SD and 1090 on HD; that makes no sense. I dont think any of the local channels match each other from the SD to the HD.
Additionally; not all my TV's have a converter or Tivo unit attached.
Taking it a step further; how about aligning the channels by genre? Sports in one segment, news in another. The way it is right now is fragmented beyond annoying... isnt this already done for the Premium channels?
Do the contracts stipulate where each channel is supposed to be at? -- Semper Fi |

Do the contracts stipulate where each channel is supposed to be at? In some cases channel placement is part of the agreement it just depends.
On the HD vs SD thingy we have done one far better in my opinion (taking my BHN hat off for a second)....when you tune to an SD channel and want to watch the HD version simply hit the SELECT button and you will be given the option to switch to the HD equiv. This now works for most of the channels where the option is available. Makes it very simple and you don't need to remember what channel is where.
Guys we could argue about channel lineup constantly. This is one of those very user specific things that nobody wins on. You may like it one way and somebody else the complete opposite. Personally I think we've struck a reasonable midway point between the two. Is it perfect nope...but neither are the other options which I have used with other providers. -- ~All truth goes through three phases. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed.
