Only Live TV must be used within your home, all the other features still work though like managing DVR and such... or is it specifically LiveTV that you'd like to use remotely?

LiveTV. I travel quite a bit a miss the Rays games every night. Obviously I have other avenues to accomplish this; some legal, some not. The legal avenues typically cost money.

I just don't understand why the modem is a requirement. I mean I guess I do understand to an extent. They don't want me to give my username/password out to everybody which would really be stupid on my part. Here you can watch my tv for free over the internet..and while you're at it go ahead make what changes you want to my account.....

Change copy control flags where everything si currently copy once to copy freely.

BHN Xbox App - »news.xbox.com/2013/08/ent-twc-tv-on-xbox-360

Continued efforts on BHN iOS / Web apps, continue adding more content, and allow method for watching remotely. Eliminate my need for a Slingbox.

Increased upload speeds without having to purchase higher tiers.

Support for blocking more than 30 numbers since BHN seems to hand out my number the second I sign up for service (I've never given out my BHN phone number but have already filled my 30 blocks on junk calls from people that have my number and know my name???)

You know how this happened right?

I don't. Would love to know how to prevent it, other than blocking.

We are approaching 1 year since BrightHouse rolled out our current and poorly developed programming guide/navigator here in Central Florida. When it first released, many of us posted our opinions here and asked for it to be reversed or give us some other color options and a full screen option. I would like to know if our input was passed along and if there was any response. Is something better being developed or are we stuck with this unless we add a TIVO?

»[CFL] [TV] Guide color changes.... Uhhhh... Houston......

Thanks

Guide updates do not happen overnight...we are always improving the guide however it does take time and everything must be tested, tested again and tested again....otherwise very bad things happen...on a good day updating boxes is stressful on bad day none of your boxes boot...thank you for continued patience.

Thanks for the response. I take your answer as a no, nothing in the works coming soon. A year is not overnight. There has been time for them to go back and fix the mistakes made in the current guide (lack of full-screen option and restore some colors to the background and fonts). Clearly, the guide is Brighthouses weakest link as most of the cable TV experience is excellent. Hopefully one day BH will put more focus on customer's feedback and react. For now, it looks like we need to move to TIVO to enjoy a well developed and user friendly guide. Fortunately I rarely use on demand functions so that won't be missed.

Then you would be wrong on all fronts.

Someone here mentioned fast upload speed... How fast it physically possible for the current BHN infrastructure to go to? Gigabit? I'm on 90/10, and I'd be incredibly happy with 150/50 or even 125/30. I like to upload pictures on facebook to send to my friends, and this would help a lot And a faster dl would be nice for when our terrible IMAP service decides it wants to rebuild its 50K email database... But I'll be sad if we do get it, because I have to go away to school soon and may not have as fast of internet I can't speak for TV services because I don't watch television... Too much homework!

Forget about those speeds helping your Facebook uploads....you wouldn't come close to that just from the limitations Facebook puts on you.

Believe it or not, while uploading pictures, my bandwidth usage monitor shows the full 10mbps upload in usage during the upload.

I'd like BH to stop re-issuing old SA DVR boxes.

Download/upload ratio at least 5:1 on top tier plans.

Have a lot more, but these two would be great start...

I didn't look through all 25 pages, but my biggest issue is the guide. Specifically, there are channels I'm never going to watch, and I'd like to hide them (from the guide, and the up/down arrows). I even tried to use the parental controls, but the shows still show up in the guide.

Related to that, the guide always shows all channels; I go into guide, press it again to choose "only subscribed" -- and when I go back into the guide, it is showing all channels again.

I'm less concerned with "nice colors" or features like that; I want the guide to be able to "just work."

The last way I'd fix the guide would be to "borrow" a feature from one of the satellite providers -- multiple "favorites" channel lists. My wife has her channels, and I have my channels. With satellite, we had separate lists and mine only had those channels I used frequently. You could always go back to the normal guide, but for most of my surfing I'd be on my favorites, going up/down to just those channels or looking at only those channels in the guide.

If I said it once, I've said it 1000 times: eSATA ports enabled on all equipped DVR's.

If push comes to shove, one should be able to open the DVR and remove the drive, then put it in a cheap, basic enclosure and access the filesystem via computer. Just reinstall the drive when you're done

Push and shove would be against you in this case. While your MIGHT be able to view the files you would be hard pressed to view, manipulate, move or back them up.

Yeah that is a shame. DirecTV is the same way. DirecTV will allow eSATA drives though, but it isn't a backup, just an alternate hard drive. They don't have backup functionality yet which is a shame.

Cisco

@bhn.net

I would just like the Ports active to expand Recording space......and I just can't image why that would be a obstacle since the SA DVR's......at one time....had this port active and did support an External Drive. The Customer is not in any way changing or altering the BHN Equipment.....they are simply plugging in an External hard drive..... a drive they purchases at their expense.

Well again, I can tell you how DirecTV does it, and it isn't all that great (but it is something I guess).

When you plug an eSATA drive in, it actually REPLACES the internal hard drive. So you aren't adding capacity to the internal drive, which kinda sucks.

Only one thing... Please add NBC sports live extra.
I am a BHN subscriber, and BHN is the only TV company available where I live. The only things I ever watch on tv are golf and soccer, especially BPL (British Premier League). Some of the soccer games are played on weekdays (Monday to Friday) when I am not at home. I am very unhappy that I cannot watch these soccer games away from home, because unlike all/most other major networks, BHN does not offer NBC sports live extra to its customers. Why do you not carry NBC sports live extra?

Copied from »[CFL] Vacation suspend for DVR record settings

Please give us the ability to 'suspend' or put-on-hold the recordings we have programmed in our DVR so that, when we go on vacation, the DVR does not fill up.

Currently, we have to delete the programs and re-enter them when we return--a major PITA.

To expand on jcarrera's post, maybe in the Series Manager, when you go to edit a series, have an option "Suspend Recordings", and it would be nice if that series would have some sort of icon in the Series Manager that gives you a hint that the recordings are currently in suspended mode...?
