[easy] Make 24hr Time Format optional on posts?

I find the 24hr time format irritating on the bottom of posts and would like the option to use 12hr format.

I know this has been requested in the past but it's been a while.

So, what say ye?

I'd say - Yes. Make it optional.

Personally I'd like to see 24h format in all places. For example, here:

Use 24h format here

Using 24h format there will make column a bit more narrow (e.g. in first row I could see 18:32 instead of 06:32PM), which is always a good thing for me. :)

Time stamps don't even look like that anymore though.

Interesting... How do you do that?
There should be some option making that happen, but I don't see it...

I have no idea, I didn't choose it, it switched this way for me some time ago. I just checked that forum logged out and see them they way you posted.

I miss the real time stamps (12hr). They were quite helpful.

Maybe ....this might make it to the 'to-do' list? Would be nice

When you log out - the web server doesn't know your time zone (usually coming from your preferences). That's why the only way to report a time related stamp is to use a relative time ("posted ... ago")...

I really don't have a preference, but i would like to see some consistency. Why use different formats at all? I would think it would simplify the coding to use the same format throughout the site.

Format should be the same in all places...

It didn't switch for me. I see the same time stamps whether logged in or not, with just a 1 hour difference due to time zone choice when logged in.

Your time stamp format is completely different. OZO See Profile's format is what I see on my profile.

This is something I would like to see too.
Other forums provide this option and it should be rather simple to implement.

That looks great. Alas, I do not think this is an option for my account.

I suspect that this is a site-style quirk.

I use 24-hr time on a daily basis and have all computers I have control over switched to it. I like it, enjoy it and don't want to change here.

That being said, I don't really care if someone modifies a style to change to 12-hr time so long as they don't mess up my "dark" style that the OP uses as well.
