I like South Korea's idea.

Universal 1Gbps broadband by 2012 sounds like it would be great!

Ha, too bad the fat catz in the duopoly will blow every penny in their pockets to fight this, and yet not spend a cent to actually achieve it their selves if it were to attempt to happen in the U.S

South Korea is approximately the size of Indiana. Wiring this size country with around 50 million people is a massive undertaking. There isn't enough money to wire a country the size of the U.S. The government CERTAINLY doesn't have it.

Of course ATT could spend a fortune to bring 1g to everyone in Indiana, but then they would have to listen to the constant bitching from Illinois and Ohio. (and DSLReports)
