Get's cold up here in the winter... Need the heat!

LOL - seriously; though - about 10k sq ft of Telco and data gear... Our current 4000A plant is loaded to about 70% - so time to add more juice.

What rectifiers are you guys installing?

I used to think the battery buses for the 600kVA UPSs at a few of our facilities was a serious amount of copper. Well, nothing in comparison to this! A measly 1600A @ 400VDC...

Emerson Netsure 701's

72 rectifiers @ 60A each, to start... Not my first choice, but I'm not the engineer.

Interesting.

For our -48V plants we have been using Eltek-Valere Flatpack systems. They seem to work reasonably well for the price. For other systems as specified, we use LaMarche.

That'd hurt a bit touching that buss. I've never worked in a data center so I have to ask - why isn't it protected better? Seems dangerous to have a 400vdc copper bar hanging in the air open.

Love the EV product - installed a couple of FP2 systems - but the company I work for has an issue with them... So Emerson it is.

It's actually a 48vdc system - hence the minimal protection... No real issue bare-handing the bars, as long as you follow a couple of precautions - like insulated tools. Skin's a decent insulator at low voltages...

As LazMan said the system in the pictures is 48VDC.

The UPS system I was making reference to which is 400VDC battery bus is a different sort of system altogether. Those buses are insulated and fully enclosed unlike the ones shown here

Oh. Well that makes since. I have had 400+vdc go through my back, twice, and it hurt like hell (long story short, don't reach deep into the trunk of a cop car with the strobe lights on). 48vdc would just be a tingle. Anyways, 4000amps of 48vdc? That is a LOT of power.

The FP2 Systems are great - we use them at all of our remote cabinets.
