I will try to post a picture. Yes they may be shared folders on other PCS but I don't think those should be visible to me. The linksys and the 3com are both modem/routers. We attach the DSL in the back and then attach our network cables to the back (4 port) of the router. With the Linksys the other PCs never show up. They only appear with the 3com. |

If you have dsl you must have a modem with a builtin router or a modem and a router
The 3com may be a modem with a builtin router and it may be configured so that the computer has the public ip address
If you can't post a picture run the ipconfig /all command with the computer connected to the 3com record the results Run the ipconfig /all command with the computer connected to the linksys record the results |

The Linksys gives the 192.168.1.100 which (to me) should be the correct address. I am not sure how to get the 3com to behave in a similar mode. |

Yea the 3com allocates the public ip to the computer The linksys does nat/napt
What is the full model number of the 3com The 3com may be able to do nat/napt like the linksys
You could just connect the wan port of the linksys to the 3com and connect all your devices to the linksys |

The model is 3CRWDR200A-75 OfficeConnect ADSL wireless 108mbps 11g firewall router
Well the linksys is a backup system in case the current (3com) router dies we can replace it with the linksys until we get another. So using them both is really not what we want to do right now. I'd like to figure out how to get the 3com to behave like the Linksys but so far I don't know what setting would do that. |

The linksys is also a ADSL modem/router. They serve the same function, just the settings are somehow different.
The connection is 1483 bridged LLC. The IP address is dynamic. (DHCP is left unchecked) VPI = 0, VCI = 35. |

Here's a page from a linksys adsl router
If you could post a picture of this page from your linksys or the info from this page The vc settings and ip settings are needed to identify how the internet connection is made
Can you access the configuration pages of the 3com if you can a picture of it's configuration summary page would help

The problem there is once we set the mode to LLC bridged the modem reboots and we can never access the settings (on either router) unless we completely reset the modem back to default settings again.
There should be some specific setting that alters the way the 3com deals with the ip address (public vs private lan) and unless you know what that setting is I am not sure what the information you are requesting will provide. I gave you the VC settings and IP settings in the previous posts. |
