 | Should i buy this Netbook? I want your opinion and suggestio Hello. I am trying to buy a new netbook and i need your opinion. I found this netbook with the following specifications:
Notebook 11.6 Inch 160G HDD 1GB Memory
Operating System Support Windows® XP /LINUX CPU Intel Atom N450 1.66G Graphics Processor Intel GMA3150 Display 11.6''WVGA Wide screen 1366*768 Dimension (L*W*H) 260mm*180mm*30mm Weight 1.2kg Memory 1GB DDR2 667 Max Memory 2GB Hard Drive 160GB SATA Max Storage 320GB Total: $367.99
I am going to use this netbook to do word processing. I seldom play games. I need a strong netbook that will last me a couple of years. So my questions is if you guys think this could be a good investment? Do you recomend me anything else? I also searched other brands and due to price i found this netbook which seems really good and is around my budget (specially that it includes the extended warranty). Hope to hear your opinions and advice. Thanks and have a great day!!!! |

A family member got the 10" 1015PEM with the N550 and is very happy with it. Myself I would get the larger 11-12" with the higher res screen like you are looking at. |

| My only 2 issues?
1. Kind of pricey for a netbook, especially for the processor being noted. I would not go over $320 for a netbook, and preferrably less than that. If you are going that high, then I'd expect a newer processor than the N450. Having said that, for word processing the N450 actually is adequate...
2. Not stated, but for as word processing machine, I would definitely opt for a matte-finish screen versus a shiny finish...much better for word processing as glare will be less an issue. -- Deeds, not words |

| reply to PeteC2 But the specs on the screen res make it a premium, which likely means it would have special graphics (apart from the ones with the standard 1024*600 (596) netbooks)
Although I wouldn't pay more than $300.... -- If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough. - Albert Einstein |

Although I wouldn't pay more than $300.... Not really, remember that is an 11.6" screen. Nothing special about the resolution or the Intel integrated graphics, although I do like the 11.6" screen. -- Deeds, not words |
