Primus's parent company entered bankruptcy in the US in 2009. It did come out of this a few months later, with creditors now owning much of the company.
Primus's US VoIP operation is Lingo, which in the past had a high proportion of negative reviews on this website. There are no recent reviews of Lingo and I suspect that people may have migrated away.
