Firefox 4 rc Can't move the cache folder.. (Solved)

I tried to move the Cache folder to a Ramdisk as described here
»kb.mozillazine.org/Brows ··· irectory
But no luck , after restarting Firefox the cache folder is not created and no files in it. What's wrong ?
Is FF4 different from FF 3.6.15 ?
Thanks
Solved: Did not work using "about:config" .
Worked after editing "Prefs.js" with Notepad and adding correct line.

There are 2 methods stated in the knowledge base:
1. Add the entry in about:config
2. Add the entry in user.pref

Which one did you use?

I personally use option #2. Then create all the appropriate folders & subfolders, including the "cache" subfolder. However, in the path name listed in user.js, the "cache" subfolder name is not entered.

Example: I want to move the cache to E:\Personal_Info\Mozilla_Cache\FF4\Cache

Then, the entry in user.js will be
user_pref("browser.cache.disk.parent_directory", "E:\\Personal_Info\\Mozilla_Cache\\FF4");

I also notice that if there is a space in the path name, sometimes FF is not too happy about that.

Other resource on moving cache to RAM Disk:

(edit: Corrected "user.pref" to "user.js")

Good to hear that you have it fixed.

It is ok to edit the pref.js file...but preferably, create the line in user.js (by default, user.js does not exist, one would have to create a text file, rename the file and extension as "user.js") would be a better way. That way, whenever you need to create a new profile for one reason or another, you can just copy the user.js file to your new profile folder...all of the content you created in the user.js will be added to the pref.js.

Thanks for reply StyxKee See Profile

Yes I know using user.js is preferable to edit user.js. I have the habit for long time (Netscape, SeaMonkey, Firefox) to use it but found faster to edit prefs.js and take care of the sorting lines.
I checked once more using about:config in FF4 and I did not add an extra space. Does not work for me.
BTW it was a fresh FF install so I did not mess with a big prefs.js file.
