Just want to see if theres anything I need to improve to stream netflix to my Blu ray Player and or PC. Im wired in with ethernet so is the blu ray player. The blu ray player has static ip and is in DMZ on the router had to set it that way cause of the streaming using dlna it kept cutting out. The powerboost makes my connection faster than it is i couldnt get a speedtest to just show the regular speed.
Streaming is all download and that looks good. Upload is really only used to send back acknowledgements so it can send down the next batch of data. if the acknowledgements are held up because your upload is saturated it could slow your download. Latency is another factor but you are in KY and tested to CA for DSLReports so 98ms isn't abnormal. The 32ms to Indy isn't abnormal either so that looks fine.
what can I do to prevent saturation and is there something I can do to make the upload better? thanks for checking things out i appreciate it. The upload is fairly low for this connection I know it might be adv at 512 not sure I believe 384 is correct. I was an hour away in a hotel and on comcast and upload was 5 meg and download was 5 meg wish i had that here.. thanks again.
There's nothing you can do other then change plans if they provide one with more upload. To prevent saturation, don't be uploading things when you are looking to stream. Don't run P2P programs that would share files on your computer with others on the Internet. Just web browsing or sending text emails wouldn't make any difference and not a problem to use when streaming down. -- Tweaked your connection? | Mail Parse | Speed Converter
