I am srill waiting for "mud season." After a warm tease last week, it has been cold and frozen since. Come on spring....

It's already come and gone for me in MA here. The backyard was a swamp for like 2 weeks but now it's back to normal. We let the dog out last week when it was 55-60 and no mud on his feet.

Dodged this bullet

Looks like we lucked out! The forecast changed from a snow storm to rain!

Friday: Rain. High near 37. Windy, with a east wind around 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Re: We survived

They are saying 1-2" for northern MA for me. I re-arranged the garage Monday this week. The snow stuff is put away and the lawn equipment has taken the snow equipments space. Today is the oil changes, spark plugs, air filters, tune ups, etc. on the lawn equipment. I wonder how well the lawn mower works on 2 inches of snow. Muahahhaha!

Feeling a little optimistic.
I put up my flag.
I removed the driveway markers.
I swept off the porch. (needs a paint job, badly!)

Not ready to drag out furniture or plug in the outdoor speakers, yet. That is my official declaration of Spring, and everything it brings for outdoor work. And fun.

Lol! I see why this thread was recently resurrected. I just watched the weather report for my area of NH, and now they're talking something like 12 to 18" of snow here! Are you kidding me???
This is unbelievable. I'm assuming (that is, hoping), it's some sort of sick April fools joke. (In any case, I'm apparently the April fool for living here.).

Good luck, folks. See ya in the warm spring weather, if it ever comes, that is.

I do.
Have even posted on rare occasions....usually weather related. (Only my fellow New Englanders know what it's like around here).

Speaking of which, it's Fri morning now, and I would say there is already 4" of nice HEAVY wet stuff, and snowing like crazy. Supposed to snow all day...this could be bad. The darn lights already flickered as I was typing this, and we've only just begun.

Raked my lawn today. And put out the lawn furniture, and plant hangers put up. Outdoor speakers hooked up (to piss of the neighbors) .... Things are coming to life at DKs house after a LOONNNG winter.

I did all my annual lawn equipment maintenance over the week-end. The lawn mower got a new spark plug, blade, painted the underside, cleaned up the mower, cleaned the carburetor, oil change, adjusted the variable speed control, and idle adjustment. The string trimmer was just a new spark plug, oil change, and idle adjustment. The leaf blower/vacuum is 2 cycle so I just needed a new spark plug.

I also got Scott's fertilizer with crabgrass preventer down on the entire lawn this week-end as well.

I planted a lot of perennials (seeds) today. It says keep them watered. No problem, but I hope tomorrows rain "deluge" doesn't drown them to death.

* Note to self: put AWAY salt, dig out fertilizer.
I "fertilized" the snow a few years back. Salting the garden would be _________.
