It is comical when someone uses a 15U chassis to have a singe 1G connection to a sup720 To top it off, this is done twice in the same vault.

ya if your setting up a new wiring location whats the point of getting a small chassis when that just means that as services come up you'll likely out grow a small unit and then have just wasted money on 1 chassis just to put in a larger one

I figure might as well put in the largest unit that doesn't grab the accountants more than they already are and expect to add line cards

True, but all the fiber is going on the Extreme Network switches -- looks like there are BlackDiamond and Summit models in this rig... hence my comment

I don't disagree about growth, but often that doesn't materialize, thus you have a really big space heater.

which is why people should aim to make any growth easier and less costly

if growth means you have to replace a 7603 with a 7613 because someone installed a 7603 because it was able to do what was needed at the time then your making groth cost more and thus harder

and if growth which is currently hard is made harder then is less likey to come through
