The speed of On Demand and the better DVR control more than makes up for the inconvenience of the ads, IMO. |

 | reply to i901 This new guide is absolutely horrid. Ads? I have to see ads when I check what is on TV, when I already pay to have the cable in the first place? If you are going to stick ads on the cable guide, then you need to reduce my bill.
Also, no longer skipping over channels that I don't subscribe to. And if you want to scroll past a channel that is an on demand channel, you can't simply scroll past it. It takes 10 - 15 seconds to move off of the channel. That is unacceptable.
Using the left/right arrows to scroll up through channels to see what was on? Yup, that's gone as well. Now it brings up the stupid guide.
I'll gladly trade in marginally faster On Demand speeds (they aren't really all that much faster, after all) for the old guide.
Also, they took away the HD zoom. On a standard 4:3 TV, with the old guide, I could zoom ESPN to take up the entire screen. Can't do that anymore, though. And I refuse to go out and buy a new HD flat screens to replace my one lone non flat screen 32" ProScan 4:3.
Can't turn on the cable box by simply picking up the remote and punching in a channel either. Use to could. Can't now.
Seems to me that Comcast either jumped the gun in rolling out this garbage or they simply don't give a rip about their customers. |

Exactly how does it improve my experience as a non-DVR or On-Demand watching subscriber? -- "The key to flying is falling and not hitting the ground." |

| reply to i901 I have 2 boxes non-demand and have to flip through some of my favorites after looking at this paper guide sent through the mail to find what is on probably missing some. The "on demand" has always been unwanted using the box to just put in certain channels like HBO. Sounds like I am going to even like it less. If I have too much trouble finding HBO or another channel I may return that box and just continue to flip through the channels. Actually I miss the simple scrolling channel guide. -- Spare computer cycles can help find answers Find A Cure!
