Re: 2011 Chicago White Sox

Pierre is generally a reliable glove guy - bad arm but good glove, so I have no clue what the issue is.

Thornton gets another shot or three - need to see him when they actually catch the ball for him - not that he pitched well or anything.

All is good. Havent lost a series yet, no major injuries, figuring out who is going to do what in the pen, making a lot of uncharacteristic errors but still 7-4. I am very confident.

Now we've lost a series - and needlessly. Bad relief pitching, bad D, and mistakes by Ozzie. Early days, but annoying.

Seems we still have issues in the pen, will it ever end?

It had better end. I know Ozzie and KW are just going nutso right now. And the bad D is a big deal too.

What bothers me is not any of these things individually, but in aggregate it means, yet again, Ozzie didn't really have them ready to go at the season's start. It's his biggest failing. I love the guy, but he has to be tougher on them in Spring I think.

Whats Ozwaldo going to do with the veterans on this team in the spring? The guys that had mishaps this year so far are veterans who had starting positions locked up. And these are not dog ass type players. The problem is with development of players all the way through the system and I dont mean only the Sox system. A couple weeks of spring training is not going to change how things are now a days.

Really, so much of that, now that Jenks is gone, The Sox won't blow games in the 9th. The last games show the contrary.

Watched last nites game at a watering hole...it was pretty sad. Morrell may not be ready for primetime.

This is becoming a long spring training. These boys better suit up and start playing...and finishing ...some baseball

Not as bad as last year, but they certainly are finding ways to lose.

Blech - at least we still have the Bulls to feel good about till they decide to play some actual baseball. I mean, I pay I dunno what per seat (2nd row, over behind the tarp), and I can watch this crap for free almost as close - in fact they played a game at Armour Square Park right next to The Cell, against De La Salle - when I go to my Kid's WYHS freshman team games.

Hell, the good teams like Mt. Carmel and St. Rita play better than the Sox have been playing so far.

That said, Paulie and TCQ are doing great for our fantasy league team.

To some degree this is on Ozzie for "not having them ready to play" whatever that means, but these guys are mainly vets - Thornton and the good fielders who are dropping balls, throwing them away, etc. If it was just Morrell I would ask if he was ready, but it's most of them - Alexi, Rios, Pierre, A. J. And most of the pad pitching is coming from guys who are vets: Thornton,. Ohman (he's settled down), Pena. These guys shouldn't need a manager or coaches to know what to do to be on their game when April rolls round.

I agree with Warzau, this team is getting hard to watch. I am trying really hard to be patient but when so much is going wrong now, I am starting to become concerned. If it was just their pen I could see that straightening out but their defense and now their hitting makes me wonder. Thank God the teams up there are not detroit and minnie maybe thats why I am not ranting yet.

Maybe when the weather warms up they will get better? Wishful thinking.

Can someone please tell me when that would be. I drove through heavy snowfall this morning @ 5 am :/

Asw far as the Sox go, they have the talent...on paper....it's just not on the field yet. It looks like they all have something better to do elsewhere. No passion.

Peavy pulled from his rehab start after only 15 pitches. Not looking good. »sports.espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/n···=6385512
