Solution for Netgear Behind RG
Well so I have discovered how to route behind my RG router to communicate with the Netgear. I currently am using the Netgear WNDR3400 N600 Dual Band, it works excellent with U-Verse and I don't have lag at all, barely don't even see it.
But, anyways here is the solution I have the Netgear in DMZplus mode, but I didn't use the RG configuration for it. I went to this RG's page: »192.168.1.254/xslt?PAGE=C_1_0
Scrolled down to Internet Details and used these numbers in the Netgear WAN port Setup.
After, doing that I could also use a alternate dns servers so I am using a different dns.
Before I clicked save for the NETGEAR, on the RG's Page of Devices it showed the Netgear was using the 192.168.1.x at first and had a Private NAT with DHCP.
Then, on the Netgear I clicked save on the numbers I used from the RG's internet details that gets the PUBLIC IP ADDRESS.
After, clicking SAVE on the Netgears Page, I went back into the RG devices and it showed:
Current Address xx.x.xx.xxx
Device Status Connected Static IP
Address Assignment Static IP- NO DHCP
WAN IP Mapping Router WAN IP Address
So I brought down the Firewall drop box and clicked Disabled. And went to the Firewall Page and showed my device connected ALL PORTS OPENED and using the Public IP ADDRESSS.
So all in all, basically my setup is:
NETGEAR WAN PORT>>RG LAN PORT>>> TO RECIEVE PUBLIC IP ADDRESS>>TO OUTSIDE OF VRAD
NETGEAR is like my router to get the PUBLIC IP and then use it.
Using this connection through my netgear has been amazing setup! Works great cause there is NO DHCP lease release or renew!
PS: Your probably wondering about all my tv's cause I am using the whole U-verse Bundle, I have NETGEAR plugged in Port 1 of Rg and in Port 2 I have a CAT6 cable running down to a Netgear 8 port switch connected to all the TV's.
