My ISP does not use PPPoE. That is why it connects to internet. I check all over the internet, there is one guy who has the exactly same problem as I have. However, the post never provide any solution.

I have a bug in my latest 2210-02-1002 firmware. However, it is not a time for me to regret, but to look for solution.

The 2210-02-1002 has been replaced by the 2210-02-1022

You can replace it they're cheap at ebay

Is this the same modem you posted about in the cayman/netopia forum

That's what happens when you make assumptions. I assumed that since you were using the 2210-02-1002 modem (which I also assumed was strictly an AT&T/SBC branded model), that you also had AT&T DSL service (which requires PPPoE/A).

Oh I have a replacement now, my old one. However, I will get another one online, probably a Broadcom based CPU modem.
