| Ooh, this early? I usually set it up a lot later, but I know nothing really, just have had one up the past couple of years because I occasionally see one hummingbird.

| I was going to wait until late April or even May, but a friend over by 17th said he has had a few scouts show up the first week of April the last few years. They were quite persistent in "telling" him to get his feeder up, too. I haven't seen any indication of the ones who were here last year yet, but it won't hurt to put it up. -- "Keep calm and carry on." |

| Well, it's out there for any of last year's visitors and newcomers. I think I may have not put it out early enough last year. I have to get to Behnke's yet to do my flower and herb boxes...usually don't do that until late April/early May. -- "Keep calm and carry on." |

| reply to DC DSL This is good timing.
I usually don't see them in Springfield until after the 15th but I try to get the feeder out right about now. You may see them a little earlier because it is warmer in town and some plants will bloom a bit earlier.
The first arrivals may be wearing scarfs and little hats due to the chilly weather, so we should help them out with some nourishment after their long journey. |

| reply to DC DSL I saw one (possibly a second, but it might have been the same one) flitting about the balconies across the street from me on Monday and again a little while ago. I don't think he/they found my feeder yet. Silly birds. -- "Keep calm and carry on." |

RxdoxxPremium,Mod join:2000-11-03 Middle River, MD kudos:11 | The two columbine plants from last year are coming back strong, their flowers will attract hummingbirds. When they start flowering then I'll get the feeder up -- Was a Cruise Fanatic, one cruise on Princess cured me. Bleah |
