Now hammer Archivis. He's the assassin! I'll bet my life on it. Or it's someone else. Who cares. Vote him. -- Play DSLr Mafia: »Pub Games |

Archivis was a guard. The hunt continues... |

KristopherI got a 4Premium join:2002-10-11 Tyrinaria kudos:4 | reply to ProtusMose OK - Here's what I found out during my re-read. They are making a live action movie based on the anime Akira. Now here's where things get good. Hollywood, in its infinite wisdom, is changing the location from Tokyo to Manhattan. They are also making the characters American. This is no longer a post apocalyptic world where everyone is fending for themselves. It's these "kids" verses an evil corporation. Tetsuo and Kaneda are brothers now, and not just friends. I even hear some of the casting ideas are for Justin Timberlake and that toolbox who played Edward in the Film That Will Not Be Named. Akira is an actual protagonist who is a super powered evil child that hums eery nursery rhymes as he wreaks havoc upon the world. And that awesome ending where Tetsuo morphs into a blob of unstable DNA, engulfing and crushing his girlfriend to death while Kaneda blasts him with that awesome laser beam and a satellite laser vaporizes the immediate area? Completely different.
Screw you, Hollywood. Like the music industry, I hope they are on the decline.
Oh, and Vote: tmodelt
I think he is most likely the assassin. If not, we move on once more. I still have the same suspicions, but they have moved up and down on the list I have due to things I saw; and I believe we are at the point now where giving any further hints will out our King.
For a more accurate and actually humorous take on the Akira remake, go to cracked.com. Preferably not while at work. I stole all the info from there. -- Play DSLr Mafia: »Pub Games |

| reply to Kristopher While the remake of Akira is somewhat interesting in an uninteresting and a most disappointing way, it is in no way surprising with Hollywood's current amazing zero-profit guaranteed way of making movies that are based on awesome foreign stories/movies/cartoons/etc.
Note that, however, should Hollywood choose my amazing idea of implementing »www.cornify.com/ into their movie, it will rake in mad $$$. As the saying goes...
