What day will this Forum close and why?

I don't see this forum closing anytime soon. Granted it's not a highly active forum, but it does have it's folowers. It's like some other forums around here, that have low volume traffic, but they still stay open.

Exec Lounge is probably your closest shot. Otherwise, you'll have to take it off site. This is a tech site, after all.

I just click on the topics, not the forum header, hence I missed it.

I dislike the idea of red/blue room, because economy issues aren't red/blue. They are issues that everyone sees differently.
Meaning the exec. lounge would be the best place to post them.

That's a shame. Exec Lounge is kinda dry and partisan finger-pointing is of no value so the Red/Blue rooms are out.

LOL. Boy am I blind and dumb.

I'll miss sure miss it. Don't post too often but read, at least, daily. Generally, good information along with sensible people and discussion in this forum.

Several others are almost always idle, I wonder why this one is getting the axe?

I don't post much in this forum, but I lurk. I have learned many things and would like to see it stay. Red/Blue rooms are not ideal because it will turn into either "It's all Obama's fault" or "Obama saved us from doom."

Would rather not see this forum go.

I've found this to be an entertaining and informative forum. One of the best on DSLR. The signal to noise ratio in here is very high. This forum will be sorely missed.

The forum was created due to a condition in Oct 2008, that caused a commonality of topics across all the 'chat' forums, thus the creation, and the eventual close, as the need has long since subsided.

IMO, the discussion barely hits pure economic theory, but more-so thinly shielded political agendas. Intent and reality differ, despite best efforts.

The exact date is depended on the parties involved, myself included, finding the time, to facilitate the exit.

If you are looking for "an adult conversation", then exec lounge would probably be the best place to discuss the actual 'on topic' discussions that have been not posted here.

I appreciate your candor and your timely response. I also would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your efforts and overall fair hand as a mod here.

Like many I disagree with managements decision, but it is what it is.

I would also like to express my sincere appreciation for almost every member that post here. There were many disagreements, but I too learned a lot from everyone. From my POV, this is one of the very few non-tech Forums here where for the most part, one could have an enlightened discussion revolving around factual data without much of the inane tribal backwash I see elsewhere.

After reading through some of the historical post in the Exec Lounge, I think I will take a pass. Perhaps my search-Foo was weak, but searching for a financial term as sundry as "annuities" returns ZERO results there.

Hopefully, DSLR will maintain an archive of this Forum for future reference.
