Reseller hosting??

Hello,

I am wondering if any one knows of any good hosting services that will allow me to resell hosting. For example, if i sell a service, i would want to tell my customer that we can host it for them on the even they do not have any infrastructure to host the site.

All my apps are PHP, Js based and but i am also starting to migrate apps to Flex with Java back end.

Ideally i would like to have the flexibility to use any technology that could satisfy any customer demands, maybe some customers want their apps to be written on .Net and others would prefer it to be on Ruby on Rails, or PHP.

Any ideas..?

Thanks

HostGator.com is possible, and cPanel/WHMS makes it nice.
I've played with it, but am not aggressive/committed enough for it to be more than a hobby.

Ruby is possible too, and ssh to your accounts.
WHMS can send billing notices, suspend, and restore upon payment.

BTW: I've heard roughly 80% of HG's sales are from Resellers.

Some stats from their news letter:

February 2011 Stats:

Domains Hosted: 5,721,884
Data Hosted: 1.06 PB
Emails Received: 572,841,183
Emails Sent: 462,941,121
Spam Stopped: 2,430,812,62

Not sure where that last digit went. It was missing from the email.

I know this post is old, but back in the day the guys at Rochen »www.rochenhost.com/ were the defacto recommended from these forums. I'm still with them and love every bit of it. Support is awesome. I've not heard great stuff about HostGator, but that's just me. Most companies (Blue Host, GoDaddy, Rochen, Host Gator, Media Temple, etc) offer reseller hosting.

I'd be interested that if you've found one to go with, who you selected and why? Also be aware it's great as a 'value add' to your customer, not a thing to sell on its own or a way to get rich.

I have used Total Choice Hosting (cpanel/whm) for a number of years and have been happy with them- good support but little in the way of Gb, also lack of root access.

Alternatively look at someone like VPSVille- great prices tfor cpanel/whm on a managed VPS with root access. They won't hit you for extra Ip addresses if you want to get a dedicated IP address for SSL.

Downtime is far from perfect though!!!- I use pingdom to let me know when things fall over...

Regardless there is something about them that make me want them to succeed.
