In my anecdotal experience, I've found the tapes to be extremely reliable. But then again, I suspect that the tape format plays a large role in it. I think LTO tapes have an automatic verify, and other features in them that make the tapes reliable.

The thing that I'm having trouble with is the switch - I can't seem to be able to tie the power and the CX4 cable nicely...

Those CX4 cables are impossible to make look nice since the bend radius is so large.

Yes exactly! And I can't even blame the rack or anything, since the slots are numbered in the back too!

Fortunately, I didn't need to take the server off to fix that mistake.
