[HN9000] Wildblue beats Hughesnet in Consumer Reports?

Just saw this month's Consumer Reports where broadband internet providers were rated. The two satellite ISPs (Wildblue and Hughesnet) were the bottom two on the ratings list, for obvious reasons. Hughesnet took the bottom honor by 5 points under Wildblue.

So there you have it. Satellite internet really does suck! As if we needed any supporting evidence.

Problem is, dial-up sucks even more.

satelite internet should have it's own category. it's not true broadband, but it's way better than dial up

No way will I believe WB outscored Hughes.
I dropped Hughes 6000/7000/7000s after 8 years and went with WB.

Oh sure after 3 months with SB my speed dropped, so went back to Hughes 9000 and a wonderful experience for the past year, seldom if ever does my speed drop below 1.6Mbps.

You are welcome to see my past 250 tests at TMN »testmy.net/quickstats/marsh_0x
WB is a comedy act, both plans are $84 each and with side by tests, the proof is in the podding.

Current speed WB 388 Kbps (49 kB/s) until midnight will be crap.
Hughes 1.82 Mbps (228 kB/s)

I quit believing anything that Consumer Reports says back about 1967 when they said that a Porsche 911 was an unsafe car do to poor handling.
