Ok I think I can help you do this Does the 6100 have internet access now and can you leave a computer connected to it so we can talk
Do you have a second computer you can use to connect to just the 7501 to make some changes to it |
yes the 6100 computer has access even though its older then dirt... this is my other computer thats running off a neighbor's bootlegged signal.. i have access to keep talking... and just to make sure we're on same page. i am trying to run a westell 6100 dsl modem through a westell 7501 router to link my second computer to the internet. the 7501 has the E1-E4 ports on it a wan port and a female usb port on the back of the router |

I understand your concerns but bear with me..........
Here's what I want you to do with the 7501
Click the My Network icon >>> click the Network Connections link >>> click the Lan link Change the Modem IP Address to 192.168.1.1 Change the DHCP Start Address to 192.168.1.15 Change the DHCP End Address to 192.168.1.47 Click the apply button Wait one minute Turn off the 7501 wait 30 seconds turn on the 7501 When the 7501 is finished booting up type the 7501 ip address into the browser address bar
After the 7501 boots up check all the ip info I had you change and let me know the 7501 accepted the changes There's still more to do |

There's one other thing I need to check out with your setup
If you type the ip address of the 6100 modem in the address bar of the web browser do you get a 6100 login page or do you get a 6100 configuration page |
