Moving to Danbury from Carmel, NY and looking for the fastest ISP. My initial idea was to get a business account, assuming there'd be a faster option that the residential 16/2. Looks like there isnt. So what's the upshot of getting a business account? Thanks!
I should update my review - I just picked up an upgrade to 22/5 on my business account. They gave me a DOCSIS 3.0 modem but there's no channel bonding yet. Speeds are pretty consistent on the 22 down and I usually see a bonus of 7-8 on the upload.
The key benefits of a business account are:
- Priority service (businesses get techs before residential) - No download caps - Static IP
My total bill now is $120/month. This is the big disadvantage. A had a tech out today for a signal issue and he speculated that channel bonding should be in the area in the next couple of months.
Comcast Business Class (this is under my review of it)
Channel bonding is the distribution of traffic over multiple frequencies to obtain greater throughput. The cable companies have been deploying DOCSIS 3.0 as a way to combat the telco upgrades / TV competition.
