I am looking for information regarding firmware upgrades for the Motorola SB6120 cable modem.
Overall, I've been very pleased with my modem. I've had absolutely no speed issues with the 12Mbps service. Unfortunately, however, my modem came loaded with the 1.0.1.8 firmware build. This is the retail release, and has known rebooting issues. (Mine reboots spontaneously every two hours.) Newer firmware exists, but must be pushed out by the cable operator -- it is not user installable.
Browsing the other forums, I can see that other cable operators (e.g., Cox) are using 1.0.3.1, and are testing even later versions, such as 1.0.5.1. I would like to get one of these later builds, but Knology tech support politely denied any knowledge of modem firmware upgrades.
Does anyone have a later build than 1.0.1.8 on their SB6120 modem? How did you get it installed? Are there any Knology techs on the forum with more information?
