Skybeam Internet Provider

I live in the Aledo, Texas area. Skybeam bought out Unite Wireless over a year ago, is when my problems had started. I too have been experiencing sluggish internet downloads, but the storm we had last Sunday morning on May 1, 2011 was the straw that broked the camels back. I called Skybeam Sunday morning at 9:50am, to which an outgoing message said their hours of operation on Sunday was 10:00am to ?. I called again at 10:00am sharp, and punched option 2 for Technical Support, only to get a message they were experiencing a high volume of calls, to push option 1 or 2 to have your phone call returned from the next available representative. I have been waiting almost 2 days for that next available representative to call me. There's no one to talk to. I have written them twice and have yet to get a returned email. Skybeam SUCKS. From what I have read so far, they went out and purchased several small internet providers in hopes to gain a larger group of customers. I've seen this in the business World too many times, where 99% of those businesses with the power to purchase run out of financial power to maintain what they have. Since I pay monthly opposed to annually like I did with the previous Owner, I will only lose about $30. Moot point to spend any time fighting a broke internet provider. I guess they had not planned on their major towers in the south area of DFW would be 100% fail safe. They are broke as broke can be. They cannot maintain what they have other than cashing payment checks. Remember this, payments are made 30 days in advance. Good luck. Now I need to find a wireless provider that can reach me in the Aledo, Texas area.

Re: Skybeam Internet Provider

Thanks worlddj, no one answered the office#, but I did speak to a person named "Missy" on the cell# you provided. She was very helpful in saying their crews are working on it and she has created a "ticket" even though I am part of the network outage. She said she would send me an email on the update, but could not provide an estimated restore.

So we shall see...

Update: Missy with Skybeam Customer Care sent me an email for me to reset my unit. I did, and it's working again. She did tell me that I will be getting a credit for the days I was out of service.

Thanks again worlddj

·Skybeam.net

You're welcome! In fact when the tech showed up at my house on 5/6 he input IP and DSN addresses for Skybeam and my system was up and functioning again. I have contended all along that someone turned off the Partnership Broadband addresses without telling customers what the new addresses were.
