 | Battery Charge Time on HP g7-1075dx Notebook Just purchased a g7-1075dx notebook that said the battery could run for 4.15hrs without a battery, however, I am lucky to get to two hours. Even when I have left it off and charging (yes, the icon tells me it is charging) over night for a couple nights now. If I wanted to be tied to just being away from a few feet from an outlet, I would have just stuck with my desktop.
Can anyone give me any suggestions on how to get better battery life or should I just return for a different laptop? Just purchased this about 6 days ago.
Thanks for any replies |

| They promise 4 hours of battery life but don't believe it. Normal usage of the computer will result in dramatically less battery life.
If you turn off Wifi, turn the screen brightness down as low as it can go, don't use the DVD-RW drive, etc. You might be able to come close to the 4 hours of quoted battery life but real world usage will never get you that close.
The battery life advertisement is as far as I'm concerned, false advertisement. -- Tom |

 | Thanks for the suggestion- I will definitely try them. So far getting no more than 1.5hours of surf time before I have to plug in Going to make my 10.5 hour drive back home difficult which is one reason why I wanted a laptop in the first place |

You could consider an inverter. I used one a couple of times in my car without any problems. -- Republic...I like the sound of the word.
