 | Internet connection sharing with Westell A90-750022-07 I have a Westell A90-750022-07 that used to be used with Century Link. I want to use it to share files and the WiFi connection on my upstairs computer (Mac OS X 10.4) with the downstairs computer (Windows XP Home) via Ethernet and with my IPod Touch via Wireless.
I was able to setup file sharing pretty easily. The router is 10.0.0.1, the Mac is 10.0.0.24, the downstairs computer is 10.0.0.15 and the ipod is 10.0.0.20. Mac Addresses locked down, WPA in place.
I have the Mac setup to share it's internet connection (wifi dongle) with it's ethernet (built in)
The IPod can't get online, and neither can the downstairs Windows Machine.
I go to 10.0.0.1 in my browser (there's no password, btw). It tells me there's no internet because there's no DSL. I'm aware and disregard. I've backed up the router's config and played around. I reset to factory settings, I mucked about some more, I deleted all references to Century Link, still nothing. Restored Backup, then I even tried following the steps outlined in this thread ( »Re: Using a VersaLink 327W as a wireless range extender and AP ) which I followed exactly (only difference, there was no password - no big deal, and that instead of another router, I was using the Mac as the other router - the one with internet)
But it still doesn't share the Mac's Internet
Any ideas?

 | reply to opinionated1 Don't have much experience with MACs but,i assume the MAC has 2 NICs?If so,the router needs to be connected the unshared NIC to get an IP.
Just my opinion |
