ThinkGeek.com

What an awesome site!!

I found this

I love these joysticks and if i could hook one to my computer to play games,IT WOULD BE K-RAD!!

I currently have these joysticks on my Commodore 64 (Sadly not the original joysticks which had RUBBER for the part that goes up.. (These are plastic (no surprise) and hurt your hands after a while (The other ones didnt)))

Re: ThinkGeek.com

I'm not upset at all. Maybe I missed something but you posted this in the rarely used "Gadgets" forum so it fits. I had these controllers on my old Atari systems I think. Can't remember if it was the 7800 or 2600.

Re: ThinkGeek.com

Actually the invention of the D-PAD makes Atari joysticks really subpar in comparison. Just buy a cheap USB controller, they pretty much all have D-PADs.

at any rate, you can just buy an Atari-to-USB converter like this one and use an actual controller:

Re: ThinkGeek.com

All I know is that I hated those controllers, they weren't ergonomic, they weren't innovative, they weren't accurate, they caused fatigue, they weren't durable.

I am 52 and I don't pine away for the old days and the old junk, I don't even like old cars, give me an efficient hybrid with lots of tech features (like a Ford Focus maybe).

God bless ya Dude, but you are king of the corny posts sometimes. But we all have our quirks, me too, so...

Oh, and your avatar scares me, uhm, erm, aheam, uhh...

Sometimes I'm a cranky old fart. Especially if the Sox don't win.

Anyways, Think Geek occasionally has something that interests me, but a lot of what they offer is either kind of old or a little cheesy, but they are one of the vendors in my bookmarks.

Are you kidding me? The Atari joysticks were crap and would fail in less than six months of moderate use.
