New HD Channels?

versus HD, and ESPN U, BBC America, history, and A&E

They said they usually HD channels at the end of the year. Knowing them, they will give us Oprah HD, Boomerang HD, Teen Nick HD, and the TV Guide Channel HD. Then two months later bump the price up eight bucks.

Not to get your hopes up, or anything, but I'm hearing that there will be a trial on 2 new set top softwares, and possibly an additional dvr option for sometime this summer. Once all the bugs are worked out, I presume, then it should start making its way around all of the divisions. But like I said, it's not something "official".....yet

I called to complain about my DVR box being wonky several weeks ago and they said that new boxes were being tested but they still had some kinks to be worked out. Just echoing what Vicious had heard.

I'd def like to see USA, Spike, History, Comedy Central, and A&E in HD.

The HD offering was definately a let down when i was forced to switch from Dish like 2 years ago. Dish pretty much had everything.

Just got a flyer in the mail today. Beginning August 3rd Knology is adding 19 HD channels in the Augusta market.

Guess we're just know seeing the benefits of the Docsis 3.0 upgrade on the TV side.

How long has it been since you guys got DOCSIS 3? Just trying to gauge how much longer after when (more like if) Montgomery ever receives its DOCSIS 3 upgrade can we expect them to do something about the HD side as well.

We already have ESPNU and Fox News on HD here in PC. I'll be damn happy to get the rest.

In Charleston, SC, area, these channels are coming July 20, or so says the flyer that a sales rep dropped off a week or so ago. I had Comcast and never would have switched without those channels. I didn't see the "Coming July 20th" line at the bottom so I'm without quite a few of my HD channels for a few weeks (just got Knology yesterday).

Somebody needs to make a call to Duluth and get Itaas on the ball. That's unless it's being done in house? Last I heard Cisco farmed out development of SARA to Itaas while they work on "Cisco Blue". Now if it's already done and passed verification then press the button.

Last update for it was 2006 and that was build number 1.59.18.1 on the 3250HD

No need to be gun shy about it, some STB's will fail to update and brick it's the nature of the game. If SARA is that big of pain to customize then maybe it's time to switch to something like Passport or some other flavor of IPG.

I read a quote the other day that said "The goal is to not notice the user interface. If you notice it too much you're not doing your job." well guess what it's old and noticed.

Knology did an upgrade on the box server Thursday morning. I hear there is more to come.

Told they are looking at a goal of the end of Aug before it is all finished.

They are online in Huntsville, AL. Noticed them today.

Except that Knology did not add all the channels they promised customers in a mailings. For example, the mailing and new channel guide sent to me stated that Comedy Central HD would be added as channel 957 beginning today. It, and several other promised channels, were not added. Customer service told me that they are no plans to add it.

I saw that all the cable news channels got grouped together in SD. I got excited when I saw that they were in the same order in the HD lineup. Then I was completely disappointed to see that MSNBC was left out of the HD block. Wtf? Why did they introduce it to the Augusta HD llineup but not the Huntsville market? I've been waiting a long time for Knology to finally bring cable news to HD and I'm frustrated they left MSNBC out. It is something I considered switching over in the past but I figured if I wait long enough they will get to it. I'm getting tired of the slow pace of getting channels in HD. If a channel didn't get in there this time who knows when it will. I'm sick of waiting. Looking at the amount of HD available on pizza (including MSNBC) it is getting harder and harder for me to justify the expense of Knology cable.

Wow Beach-TV in HD did we really need that channel.
