Make sure you know what you're trying to silent

I wasn't sure where to post this but i think this is best place.

This a good lesson for every builder. Make sure you know what fan you're trying to silent. I recently replaced my cpu fan with cooler master n520 and all my fans with 140mm. I also placed my computer on table from floor so been trying to make it silent. All this time i been under impression that the sound of fan i am hearing is from my cpu fan being n520 is 2 fans it is the logical thing to think. Today I installed fan controller and the dam thing would still not get quieter. There is one more fan that I didn't mention and frankly wasn't even thinking about and it's my video card fan. I have ati hd5870 card and recently removed controller program being it was buggy and giving me bsod. The fan i am hearing is from my video card and not my cpu or any of my case fans. Lesson for all builders is make sure you know what is making noise before you go on wild goose chase like I did
