Re: Spectrum Quad Tuner DVR revealed Yes but littering the thread by asking the same question over and over again isn't helpful. We don't know when this will be released to more markets. We almost never know until it actually starts happening.
The current guide has a sucky UI, but it works. The new guide will come when it comes. If he can't deal with what we have now, there are alternatives. If he can't afford an alternative, then he'll have to deal with what he has now. Complaining about it here isn't going to speed up Comcast's deployment schedule. |

 | i'm not going to buy a $400 mce card or spend $300 on a decent tivo only for us to get this new box two weeks later. Plus I would need two tivos or moxis since I'd want one in my room and my parents are addicted to the motorola in the living room. |
|
 | Then my suggestion is to get your box replaced if it's not working correctly. We don't know when this is coming to more markets. It could be a month or a year. |

 | reply to cypherstream It will be awhile. You wont see it this year. |

 | reply to cypherstream Wow, great news about the 4 tuner box. One of the reasons I left Comcast for U-verse, was the ability to record 3 programs while watching a fourth all in the same time slot. This will probably get me back to Comcast. |

 | reply to cypherstream How about, instead of telling me I'm not going to see this box for a while, you answer the questions I asked about it?
There are good reasons why I'm asking the questions I did...
Or, is it all a smokescreen, and it doesn't exist?
I'm a bit peeved I have to ask the same thing 3 times.... Actually I will go away after the questions are answered, so wouldn't it be quicker and easier if the questions were answered the first time? -- Looking for 1939 Indian Motocycle |

 | reply to lynxexp and see it never like the tivo software on comcast / moto hardware? |

It's still being tested in the lab and will be months before its launched. If you even bothered to read the link that cypherstream posted then you would have read only speculative answers to a couple of your questions.
Hence to a small quote the article:
"The installer said it is a 4 tuner DVR allowing me to record 3 programs while I watched a 4th. However, the user guide said I could only record 2 and watch a 3rd. Didn't test this out, but either is enough for me. It appeared to be the standard DVR functions that you would expect. I asked the installer the size of the hard drive, and he said 1 terabyte with around 160 hours of HD recording. Again, the book said 500 GB, so not sure what is correct here.]
And if your still peeved about that then tough... |

Re: Spectrum Quad Tuner DVR revealed If someone knew... I'm sure they would share. Alas, nobody knows! |

 | reply to mikedz4 At least Comcast acknowledges it on their official blog... »blog.comcast.com/2011/05/looking···nce.html
Once upon a time Comcast didn't want to talk about anything. |

 | any updates? |
|
 | I've got one of these boxes in my house now. What type of updates are you looking for about it? It's pretty cool and seems to work well. When it was installed, a supervisor came by to make sure it was done properly. He told me all about it and said it has 1TB of hard drive space, and that it is capable of using 4 tuners, but that comcast only has 3 turned on right now. I can record two shows and watch a third. Let me know if I can answer any more questions about it. |

What do you think about the guide?
Thanks |

Thanks No any room dvr. Cannot record 3 at once. Record two and watch a third. In Augusta,GA only right now. Haven't heard of any more. The guide is really cool, but it can lag at times if you move around too fast. I may post a video of it later. |
|
 | can you record 3 and play back a saved show?
record 3 and play VOD?
what is the cost vs the older DRV?
do you need to buy cable HSI and phone to get this? or just HSI? |
