Collegeville, PA | Att wifi hotspot Hey. Right now im sitting in starbucks. When I connected to their free hotspot, my ping was horrible ~3000, and speeds worse than dialup, 30kps down. Is this normal!? My phone's 3g network is getting 2500+kbps/300kbps. Is there a way to fix the wifi, or at least report it? Is it just congested badly? Is there a way I can make my phone a hotspot?(im using a Samsung captivate(galaxy s) using android 2.2 on att ) |

| Cheap, Fast, Perfect... pick two. You could probably tell the store manager, but I suspect
they a) don't know how to fix it, or b) don't care to fix it as it's "free."

Either it's overly popular - were there allot of people with devices in/out/arround the store?
Or the system had a broadband failure (usually fed by DSL) and has switched to a dial-up modem as the backup.
You can tell the store manager, but he may not care. If the system is using it's dial-up modem, then it has already tattled to corporate and someone should be dispatched to fix it. |
