[MA] Good Places To Eat Around North Station?

I will be in Boston early next month and wondering if anybody has personal opinions on a decent place to eat, around North Station? We are taking Amtrak down so the restaurant should be within walking distance of there. 5-10 minute walk is fine...maybe a bit longer if its a nice day.

It will be just two of us. Personally I eat a lot of my meals in fast food joints when I am alone so atmosphere isnt a big deal to me as you can tell ...but it would be nice to show that I can clean up good and pick a good spot.

Thanks.

You can walk to the North End (aka Little Italy) from there... tons of great choices. I assume you'll be there for dinner?

Trattoria di Monica on Prince Street is a favorite of mine... very small place, a little off the beaten path as far as tourists go, the food is excellent and it's a nice place, but it's not stuffy or overpriced.

If you want to go downscale in a "pitchers of beer" sort of way but still have something great to eat, Pizzeria Regina is always an option.

Yep, will be there for dinner. My girlfriend loves italian...well, loves Olive Garden but I try to tell her the Olive Garden is as italian as Taco Bell is mexican. So maybe a nice real italian restaurant will be right up her alley. I dont care much for it but I will find something I am sure.

Actually, no one in Boston calls the North End "Little Italy".
Its just "The North End".

Sarah has it right. You can find all kinds of good food in the NE.

Neptune is my favorite Its on Salem St
Seafood is the main staple
It is one of the top 3 seafood rest. in Boston

Giaccomos- Italian
Prezza-Italian
The original Pizzeria Regina the oven is 100 years old

When you are done you can walk up Hanover St and have real Gelato and then cross the street to Modern Pasry and have great espresso and Tira-Misu or Red Velvet Cupcakes.

DO NOT go to Mikes Pastry

! block up and first right from Modern is Salumeria Italiano

the best Italian food store in Boston.

LMK if you need any othe recs

When I was going to the VA Outpatient area near there, I remeber that there was a deli close by that had fantastic sandwiches.

I wish I could remember what it was.
