Re: ikTel Networks - Niagara ISP Well I'm down again..... This is the sencond time in a week. I'm glad I gave my disconnect notice for the feb5 th. I'm going with start they have get this technical support. It will be nice to have that again. Oh we'll I did like them but just can't stand that there isn't any support. |

 | My neighbour in St Cath has been off and on all day yesterday. Had to make a guest SSID for her on my router so her daughter could get her assignments in. I showed her start's website and pricing, she has decided to switch as well. |

 loyd join:2012-09-24 Niagara Falls, ON | I am in Niagara Falls and started having nightly outages last week.
Last night it came off and it still did not come back. Modem has 4 lights and I get IP from IKTEL, but no service. I am currently tethering into my Wind Mobile cell, but that only gives me internet on single PC and I have 4 PCs + PS3 + XB360 hooked up on my WiFi.
I don't want to go back to Cogeco, because they just ask too much for too little. Paid my dues to Cogeco for many many years so iktel was refreshing at a time.
Currently looking at Acanac or someone here suggested Start company from London and they get amazing reviews here and the Cable rates look fair.
Going to give IKTEL 30-day notice. |

| Everything has been down since about 1pm. AND...this was PLANNED MAINTENANCE! Alan knew THREE WEEKS AGO that this was they day, but of course, he didn't bother to tell his customers about it. I have iKtel phone and it's been down all afternoon, not like a few of my customers really care. NOT!  |

And, good luck trying to find them. As soon as the switchover is complete, the Niagara Falls "hole in the ground office" will be vacated. The company and Alan moved to Burlington in December and left no forwarding address. |

I can basically go browse the internet at a 1990's speed, good think this site is simple and doesn't have no ads or graphics or I prolly couldn't complain here! Wife is gonna give Start a call tommorow I think! |

 | It's been back up for me since about 2pm but the speeds are extremely slow. I can't even attempt to run any web based speed tests - the pages simply will not load.
A simple 'Scheduled Maintenance' on their homepage and an email is all I really ask for. I always find I have to email them asking if there is an outage. Hoping with this move it improves their professionalism or sadly I'll be looking for another provider. |

Re: ikTel Networks - Niagara ISP It started around 4pm, but it's unusably slow. SpeedTest does not even load, had to work on this single PC with Wind phone attached.
We have been without internet since 2am last night.
Perhaps this is acceptable in Nigeria, but not here. Who let this guy to Canada ? |

Re: ikTel Networks - Niagara ISP From their website it sounds like services have been fully restored - outage states it was yesterday. My speeds however are still brutally slow. Anyone else experiencing this or has your speed returned to what it was before the outage?

You probably missed my many posts that said ikTel's total lack of communication/support is what ticks me off. As I said, ikTel isn't for everyone, and if it doesn't suit you, move along. There are better options out there. |
