New Beta Feature

Yesterday I added a feature to the International Call Options section of the online control panel that allows you to specify the IP address from which you will be placing international calls. You international calling will be restricted to this one authorized IP address.

This was added as an extra layer of security for all of our customers and is recommended for any BYOD users.

If you have this option enabled and a call is placed from an IP address that has not been authorized the person placing the call will hear a busy signal. In the future this will be updated to play back a message informing them that they are not authorized to place international calls from their current location.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to improve this feature or wants to send us some feedback please visit the Beta Lab section of your online control panel.

One option would be to allow it to work with dynamic dns services like dyndns. They just need to enter the correct FQDN and if ip changes VT will update.

I'd love for it to work this way but unfortunately this is not possible as the comparison of the authorized IP against the source IP is done in the call processing with no way to do a DNS lookup.
