[OC] Acer Aspire M7720-E7810A

Can I over clock my system? Are there any BIOS mods to unlock the over clocking options?

Generally, brand named pre-factory built PCs aren't made for overclocking in mind.

Unless they claim you can with it, I wouldn't to avoid damaging hardware and voiding the warranty.

The warranty has been gone for a year now.

Either way, the parts in the system are not generally made for overclocking.

If you have options in the BIOS, go nuts, but you risk damaging your system if the parts are low quality.

I found a mod that unlocks it but I don't want to kill my system.

1. you need at least a 750w high quality power supply. which one is in your pc? most of them have only 450w...
2. you need a much better cpu cooler!
3. you may need new triple channel gaming ram (it's also cooled!)
4. you may need a new gaming gpu (e.g. hd 6950)
5. you might need a faster hdd, if yours is at only 5400rpm

which bios mod did you find? i'm trying to get my ram work at 1333 mhz...

greetings

1. False
2. Mostly true, unless it's a very small OC.
3. False
4. False
5. False

What you really need is a bios that allows OC settings. That is very rarely availiable on factory machines. You best know what you're doing if you start making modifications to your bios, because you might brick your motherboard.

Thanks guys for the info but I'm not going to bother. If something goes wrong that would be like a $1200 screw up.
