The Stanley Cup comes to Boston for the first time since 1972. Great job to the Bruins! We are all proud of you. I just hope Boston survives what is sure to be one hell of a celebration party tonight!
I was in Boston tonight (near Fenway) for hockey-unrelated reasons, it was quite a scene! I was waiting for the bus a little after midnight and people would drive by and honk their horns, yell, wave, etc. and the pedestrians would walk by and yell "BRUIIIIINS! WOOO!" and high five all of us...
There was an extremely heavy police presence, but there didn't seem to be any misbehavior...
I already got my gear! I was coming out of Starbucks in Natick this morning, and I saw someone already wearing a championship tee-shirt. I peeked next door at Dick's Sporting Goods, and they were open for business! One of the tables full of tee-shirts was already decimated (at 6:45 A.M.!), but I was able to score an official hat and one of the other black tee-shirts.
My parents, on the other hand, are less than thrilled to find out that they are scheduled to go through my recently deceased great-uncle's belongings around lunchtime on Saturday... his apartment is about halfway down the parade route. Will make for fun driving
Death in the family is never good. But when my uncle died a couple years back, the boxes of Red Sox stuff was insane. A few hundred programs going back to the 1930's
Every Red Sox memory since birth in 1928. 4 former presidents autographs on programs. I was with him for George H. W. Bush. Detroit game, Uncle had season tix.
I don't have a dollar value but I was told "Out of bounds, never seen this".
