Replacement cable modem/router?Good evening all,
I am a recent customer of Suddenlink, coming from an area with FiOS. I miss my Actiontec MI242WR router; it had so many options, many of which I got very used to having (like dynDNS support for several different dynDNS sites).
Anyhow, the SMC cable modem that I am supplied is just not cutting it. I need something a little more rubust in the routing features department. Any of you have experience with other devices that you know to work well on a Suddenlink cable connection?
I specifically want something to preferably replace the cable modem that I have, not sit behind it. Please let me know, and thanks!

You may want to look at getting a stand alone modem and then putting a router behind it 95% of everyone dose this, you can then run what ever type of router you want some prefer linksys then flashed with dd-wrt some people run there own higher end routers.
There are not many cable modem/router combo's out there. and the one Suddenlink has which is smc is not a good one in my oppion |

dump the combo modem/router for a good modem (motorola) and a good standalone router. |

you'll also save a boat load if u keep service for longer than a year |
