1 edit | Threaded PMing? Well that's the best way I could think of describing this anyway.
As anyone who does group PMing very often knows, when you send out the PM, it fills up your history screen with one copy of the PM per person you sent it too, responses do not go to the whole group it was sent to; only to the sender unless otherwise specified, and if you want to send another one, you have to retype all the recipients over again.
So here's my idea:
There would be another tab on your PM page called "Group Messages" or something. Under the send box there would be a checkbox... "make group message", which if checked, would cause the PM to show up under the group messages tab as sort of like a forum thread which would only be visible by the creator of the message and the recipients. The flashing icon for a group message on the infobar could be something like dual word clouds, with the number of replies since you last looked at the thread. When clicked, instead of showing you the text like a regular PM does, it would take you to the thread n your message box. Posting to the thread would be done just like a regular thread... maybe just quick reply only.
Anyway I don't know how much work this would actually be to implement into the forum, I thought I'd just throw the idea out there since the site's PM function starts getting clunky when you send to more than 2 people, it seems really only designed for 1-to-1 messaging. |
