Mele20Premium join:2001-06-05 Hilo, HI kudos:4 1 edit | OT I don't see tags there and all I see is a very small box. No way to upload attachments and Preview. No poster should post without previewing. You must never speak more than one sentence and never upload attachments, etc and don't care how your post looks so you don't bother previewing. All those matter to me. I can see where quick post HERE would be useful only if you just write two or three words or just one sentence and that is it. On other sites I do use quick post because those sites are not stingy like this one with the size of the box. They have nice big boxes and you can preview also but they don't have all things that you get with a real post as quick post is NOT for regular posting just for when you have almost nothing to say and no attachments, no html, etc.
As for the youtube link, I don't have a virtual machine running at the moment (where I have Flash on IE8, Fx3 and Opera) and on my host machine I have Flash installed only on IE6 and Google won't let me view youtube on it. -- When governments fear people, there is liberty. Not every post needs to be previewed and with the EDIT function - anything can be fixed in a few seconds at most. I know the tags I use - no need for the cheat box for them.
It is meant as a QUICK reply - not a full on with everything. I think you are missing the point of a QUICK reply. A few sentences and basic functionality - makes perfect sense. I have done multi-paragraph quick replies - no issues what so ever. When you get to the end of the regular area for quick reply - SHOCK - the area gets larger. And you can go to the top to see what was written there.
In fact - this entire post was in quick reply.
Use quick reply when it makes sense - if you need all of the other stuff - then use reply. Leave quick reply for those of us who can use it effectively and with no issues. It maybe useless to you - but not to many others. -- Brian

Mele20Premium join:2001-06-05 Hilo, HI kudos:4 | reply to CylonRed I have never said that quick reply should be removed. I'm fine with it being there for those who like it. All I am asking for is the right to use Fx4 the way Mozilla designed it (Iron also). That means that Justin should allow me to have the pull corner on the text box when I am logged in and not just when I post anon. That is all I am asking for is that he not tamper with Fx and Iron and cripple a basic function of these browsers. It could be a toggle switch so those who want Fx and Iron/Chrome crippled at this site could have that and those of us who prefer uncrippled browsers could also have that when logged in. -- When governments fear people, there is liberty. That small box is horrible to type in. And it convulsing on each line return is so irritating. I want a big box too big to fill up so it doesn't convulse on each line return but just stays the same. I have been able to post here in a normal manner with a good sized text box for most of the years I have been a member. Then Justin takes away a great thing and replaces it with a small box that doesn't work right and can't be enlarged except one line at a time. If you force a big box, many times it will revert to a small one on the next line return. Sometimes, like now it has stayed big but it still convulses and enlarges one line at each carriage return although that is unneeded as it is already so vertically tall. I don't want a vertically tall box that is extremely narrow inwidth as that is totally unnatural for reading ease. I want a wide box that doesn't convulse on each carriage return and is easy to read. Chrome does the same thing now so it is not just Fx. It is a deliberate mess from Justin because he likes it this way and to heck with what members here have had for years that they love. The ability of Fx to let me enlarge text boxes anywhere has always been a major reason for me to use Fx from way back many, many years ago and now that is taken from me at this site unless I post anon. It makes no sense that anon posters don't have their browsers raped here but we members do. -- When governments fear people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. It looks like you do not understand the qreply - in which case - DON'T USE IT but don't insist your issues are mine. They aren't.... -- Brian
