Re: Oxymoron... said by cableties:Rural Broadband!
Nothing fast about living in the country. You can be rich as crap and not get a fiber line pulled to your home (well, usually as rich folks are cheap b-stards)
Ofcourse, you'll start to see LTE bump outs to the bumpkins. $80/10Gb limits. But that is still far out. And they still have to put backhaul to the transmitters...
Want fast internets? Live in congestion. Want to live in quiet country, live with dialup-interruptus! and your one of those that keeps this country like it is.., look yall the country needs it weather we agree or disagree, i think personaly we should DROP cable completely, and move to fiber (but I also know that our country is broke) so as the rest of the world is movin to fast fiber we are stuck with cable!!!, heck even in urban area's like where I live the highest you can get is 10mbps THATS IT!!!!!!!!!!, how in the world people think that companys can use that is beyond me.
But back to what I was saying is that the rural areas need it just like we do, and they deserve it to, btw in the long run most people that live in the rural areas have a quite a bit of money so you think they would do pay-per-view??, maybe even go over caps??, or pay for the fastest speed when they dont need it??, or how about all the other stuff we do in urban areas that we take for granted...., Theres money to be made, the isp's wont do it, but it looks like the states might??, or Federal.., idk what to tell yall but 20 million people with broadband? man thats a bunch of money that can be flowing threw that isnt?, and dont give me that satilite bull, i got friends that live in the country and every one of them wont pay for satitlite internet (why?? they make alot of money so whats the problem??) they would rather pay for dail-up at $10.00 a month then 80... look 4G and 3G will fail to offer the internet to the rural areas like the FCC is wanting, The FCC from what im hearing wants broadband for the rural at a reasonable price and speed, and reasonable usage..i dont say 2 gb for 30 is reasonable, people will still stay on dail-up |
