Viacom has been doing this for some time. They used to be relevant. Heck there channels are pretty much ALL I watched but their quality has gone WAY down over the past 5-10 years. Them doing this is just their attempt to not go under.

More money than they know what to do with and can fight. After all CV will pay for it in the end when Viacom wants more $$$$

I hate to tell you this, while it's the path of least resistance to say "he who has the most money wins".. it's not always true.

Viacom can very easily lose their case against CV, however, Viacom and change the terms of their agreement upon contract for carriage renewal time and specifically forbid the trans of their signal via tablets or IP etc..
