2002 Civic OverheatingSo, I had an overheating issue with my 2002 Civic...took it to my mechanic and he told me there was coolant leaking into the head gasket. Three weeks later, I got the car back. The head gasket was replaced, as was the timing belt and the water pump. He also did a valve job. A day later, while driving the car, it began to run hot and soon after, started to overheat again.
With all this work done (and the thermostat was replaced last year), any thoughts on what the issue could be? |

Your mechanic is an idiot and diagnosed it wrong It was installed wrong The block is cracked The head is cracked T-stat (so what, they can go bad when ever) Water pump is bad Fan is bad Fuse is bad Relay is bad
TBH you really should give way more info... (when does it overheat, after what, during what, only when...) and have this moved off of the social forum... |

Re: 2002 Civic OverheatingHe was right: It was in Auto Social and I moved it to the main Auto forum -- a more appropriate place. |

IDK, but if my mechanic had my car for nearly a month and it still overheated after being repaired I'd be shopping different mechanics. Along with trying to figure out how to deal with the current one. Yikes. |

no the catalytic converter can cause over heating. I had a 86 ford escort that kept over heating even in the winter and I tried everything. Then some one told me about the catalytic converter could be causing it. » autos.yahoo.com/maintain ··· 4_2.html |
