War is hell, and the Japanese government brought the disaster on their people. The second bomb was the direct result of the government's arrogance, as they were ordered to unconditionally surrender after the first bomb, and given warning that a second would be dropped. They didn't surrender immediately, and the bomb was dropped again. It was a hard lesson, but one learned well. Don't take atomic bombs lightly.
