3 Upstream bonded channels
Delran, NJ

I've had 4 downstream bonded channels for a long time now. Last night my ip address changed as did my route (a lot less hops to get out of Comcast's network). I now have 3 upstream bonded channels.

When I called into Comcast last week they said they were switching the headend soon, so I guess they did it last night.

Analog channels went away last night, tonight upstream bonding is on after an hour+ outage. 4 down, 3 up on my SB6121 modem.

Uploading doesn't kill download speed now, nice!

Upstream bonding here in NE Philly....just noticed it this morning...my signal levels are much better too than usual. The downstream was around 11-13, now down to 6...

My computer froze up earlier and I'm not sure if my screenshot post got through to the site. Here it is again just in case.

Philadelphia PA (Specifically 19135 zip), SB 6120

Seems the net went out around 2:30 a.m. this morning, maybe it was a forced reboot, as now I have 3 upstream bonded channels...spiffy blue bond light on the modem.

My signal levels also improved...before this, downstream was hovering around 11-13dBmV

A 1 hour maintenance period just finished here in Salem, OR. When the headend started accepting connections again, channel bonding was enabled. It looks like Comcast is finally getting to the peripheries of the Portland area.

I guess I should be happy that 2 out of 3 channels are 64QAM?

A "legacy" carrier must remain for older modems. Plus 16QAM is less affected by noise.

Re: Evidence of Upstream Channel Bonding - Post Here

Since I got upstream bonding, I've been seeing spikes in latency when doing ping tests. For example, when doing a high rate, high bandwidth ping to my gateway, pings will be normal and then all the sudden one ping will shoot up into the hundreds of ms, then normal a bit, then high, etc.

You can see them on my line quality tests starting on March 13th, when I first got bonding. Prior to that my ping fairly flat. Could be coincidental though I guess.

Lost in Philadelphia, PA

In Philly 3/22 230am - 30 min downtime, when my modem came back I had 3 channel upstream and a new fancy blue light on my modem. Incredible performance!

Woke up just now and I am back down to 1 channel upstream .... @#$%!#$#$%

Where did my blue light go? /cry

Update - tried resetting my modem, and now am back to 3 channel upstream. Odd.

Update2 - so it's off and on every few minutes. I guess Comcast is working on it.

Re: Evidence of Upstream Channel Bonding - Post Here

Lost internet service here is S. Jersey just outside Phila tonight. When it came back I had 3 channel upstream bonding for the first time. Also the analog TV channels were gone finally.
The 3 upstream power levels the same and the previous 1.
The downstream power levels are not as good as previous.

Interesting, Philadelphia now no longer shows as a speedtest server for me »speedtest.comcast.net/ after this change. It was the closest for me.

I'm not sure if it had been there for a while and I just hadn't rebooted my modem or what, but after a 2 hour outage yesterday, I'm now rocking 3 upstream channels.

No change in speeds (not that I expected that anyway), but hopefully once they have deployed USCB we will maybe get speed plans with more upstream!

IL, Lombard. Don't know how to post the modem's diagnostic page on a UBEE CDV/HSI modem. Would be glad to post if someone told me how.

When you are ready to upload your screenshot, you can edit your post above (Edit button is bottom right on your post) and choose to upload it in that post.

Or ...

Use the small reply button on the bottom of that post to create another post and upload it there.

Using the small reply button on the post instead of the big ReplyOP button keeps the branch of the topic threaded properly.
