Global-Plus discontinued... now what?
I am currently in the "free" period of my second year of prepay. I just went online to add the "Global Plus" add-on (which gave you 1200 minutes of free int'l calling), but was surprised to see that the "Global Plus" add-on has been discontinued by Phone Power.
They now sell a whole separate int'l plan that you must choose in lieu of your domestic plan.
Trouble is, if I switch plans right now, I lose the balance of my free year. This is because I'm no longer "adding on" to my existing free plan, but am completely changing plans to a new, international plan.
This does not seem fair to me. Is there really no way to just "add on" an international option and not lose the balance of my free, 2nd year?
If not, who is currently the cheapest international VOIP option? Lingo?

We can add the plan for you but you will need to maintain it for the remainder of your contract. The issue was that people were signing up for it, making calls for a month and then cancelling it. That truly defeated the spirit of the plan. Please send an email to gm at phonepower.com and ask them to let Ari know you are from BBR.
Thank you very much for looking into this, but that will probably not work for me.
I was hoping to add the Global-Plus international plan for about 3-4 months, just like I have done in previous years. Every year, I have a visitor from Europe stay at my place for about 3-4 months and so I only need the international plan during that time.
I did not know that this was a problem, as there was never a minimum limit placed on how long you needed to keep your international plan.
