Re: COX Fairfax, VA: The worst ISP in the nation?

I work too late now to catch the Cox Road Runner support people and I don't feel like talking to brainless level 1 support from God knows where, so I am stuck with 200+ pings to any gaming server. I might have to take off work in order to talk to one of these morons. Oh, call them from work you said?? I don't know if I can power-cycle my modem from work, LOL. What a joke.

Don't even bother. I've probably called them around 40-50 times and they've never been any help at all. I suggest you get a temporary dialup account until cox finishes with this upgrade. Although they claim they'll be done with this by the end of february, from what I've heard from a lot of others it wont be done until may.

I wish I could get a normal 56k connection though.
My dial-up is maximum 33.6k and normally about 15 to 20k:it's like 33.6k or less. I don't know why. I'm 18,500 feet away from my CO and I think that's the reason I cannot get even a normal 56k connection.

I have 3 56k modems and I have tried all of them. The same shit connection. Sigh...BTW, I don't even understand why I should talk about my telephone internet connection here while I have a cable connection with much higher monthly fee. You damn ass whore COX, get out of my town!
