[IMG] coax connection and issues with select HD channels

I've noticed yesterday that my CNNHD was stuttering, freezing and pixelating to an unwatchable degree. Other HD channels were playing fine.

...restarted STB, same thing on both TVs

so after waiting for 20min on the phone i decided to try using website chat to resolve this issue and was able to get a hold of a tech...

anyway, after chatting for a while i was suggested to me that this issue can be due to a bad coax connection somewhere near the splitter and if i can try to reseal it myself i'll save myself from a tech visit. so today, before climbing into my attic and trying to find this splitter, i decide to check on this channel again and voila!, - it works fine!

Tech told me yesterday that he can't see any problems in VHO and it definitely my coax connection.

So my question is what was it and should I still try to find my switcher and re-tighten connections?

Sounds like a bad connection somewhere to me. As for it working today but not yesterday, some issues like that can be affected by weather - extreme heat/humidity, e.g. Check it again later today and see if the problem pops up again. If it does, then I would imagine that the problem is probably a bad splitter or a bad connection somewhere in your setup.

BTW Im in Jersey and also noticed that CNNHD was freezing-pixelating for awhile yesterday. As all my other HD channels were fine I did nothing and low and behold it resolved itself a hour or so l8r when I checked. I can't see how just 1 HD channel would have issues and not more if its a hardware issue with a splitter.

I'm in NJ as well... now it sounds more like VHO problem, no?
